Mr Jagan was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012, after the CBI found investments to the tune of Rs 850 crore pumped into his companies–Jagathi Publications, Indira Television, Bharathi Cement, Sandur Power, Carmel Asia and others by firms and individuals in return for lands allotted to them during Mr Jagan’s father and late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure.
Few days ago, the Supreme Court had rejected Mr Jagan’s Bail application and directed the CBI to complete the probe in the disproportionate assets case in the next four months.
Meanwhile, the CBI has raised an objection in the CBI court on Mr Jagan’s memo that probe should be conducted after combining all the chargesheets filed in the assets case so far.
It said the probe should be conducted separately on the seven aspects as there were conspiracies in different angles.
The CBI has filed a counter petition opposing granting bail to bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy. (UNI)
