KISHTWAR, Jan 6: A minor boy was killed in accidental gunshot in Chudyana Kontwara area of Drabshalla here today.
As per police sources, son of Village Defence Committee (VDC) member namely Sahil Kumar (13), son of Dharam Singh of Churyana Kontwara was playing with his father’s service rifle when he accidentally shot dead his cousin brother 8-year-old boy identified as Mithun Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Chudyana Kontwara area of Drabshalla, who was playing nearby. Dharam Singh is a VDC member.
On getting information, police team led by DySP Headquarters Kishtwar Davinder Singh Bandral rushed to the spot and shifted the body of the deceased to mortuary of District Hospital Kishtwar for autopsy. The weapon has been seized.
Kishtwar Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
