JAMMU, Dec 20: The dharna launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SKF) at Jagti township entered the 80th day today.
The protest is led by president, JTC and SKF Shadi Lal Pandita. He said the protest which started on October 2 will continue till the demands are resolved. He accused the Government of its total callousness towards the displaced people protesting at Jagti for last 80 days for their genuine demands and demanded immediate enhancement of monthly cash relief to Rs 25,000 per family in view of the skyrocketing prices as inflation was on rise since 2014.
Pandita also demanded a package of 20,000 jobs for the displaced youth with 5000 Class-IV posts for those youth who could not continue their education due to poverty after matriculation. Besides, on spot recruitment drive be launched for KP youth in camps and non camp areas in police and para military forces. He also demanded establishment of three Satellite townships near Srinagar, Anantnag and Baramulla districts for rehabilitation of Displaced Pandits.
Raj Kumar Tickoo unit president, Jagti JTC and convenor of SKF and Kashi Nath Bhat vice president of JTC and SKF demanded free ration for displaced pensioners. The other speakers demanded release of balance ex-gratia of gutted property and compensation for losses suffered in last 31 years of turmoil.
