RAJOURI, Dec 15: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University celebrated its 17th foundation day with great fervor by organizing an impressive function in the University Conference Hall.
Prof Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Iqbal said that the University is entering in the 18th year of its foundation.
Terming December 15 as a golden day in the chronicles of BGSBU, he said that BGSB University inherits a glorious past and has a bright future. Prof Iqbal said that this day reminds us the purpose of our existence, the success story so far and the road ahead.
Prof Iqbal mentioned that the University is determined enough to continue its role in nation building and paving a way towards change through education and an embodiment of principles of educational excellence, freedom of thought and plurality.
He highlighted various initiatives of the University for developing BGSBU as a centre for excellence in teaching and research. On the occasion, a colorful cultural program was presented by the students and faculty of the University.
Those present on the occasion were Prof G M Malik, Dean of students, Prof Naseem Ahmed, Prof Asif Hussain, Heads of various departments, faculty members, scholars and students of the University.
Mohd Ishaq, Registrar of the University, proposed vote of thanks while proceedings of the event were conducted by Dr Shams Kamaal.
