Concern over 18 hour power cut in Jagti camp

JAMMU, May 5: A meeting of Kashmiri migrants was held at Jagti camp today under the chairmanship of Asok Koul president RDS which expressed grave concern over the 18 hour power cut in the camp.
As per a release, the meeting urged the Government to look into the problems of camp inmates as 18 hour power cut in a day is unbearable in this scorching heat of Summer and the old and infirm people as well as children are unable to bear the same.
The meeting also demanded enhancement of cash relief in view of sky rocketing prices and the recent hike by Government was inadequate totally. It demanded that Centre should sanction the proposal submitted by Omar Abdullah Government in this regard.
Mr Koul also demanded implementation of PM’s employment package, removal of encroachment from migrant property and allotment of quarters to migrants in Kashmir valley.
Jatin Bhat, Ramesh Pandita and K K Kak also addressed the meeting.
