SRINAGAR, May 5: Expressing serious concern over the cold shoulder response shown by the Government to striking Patwaris, CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has asked the Government to concede the genuine demands of the revenue officials as promised to their association from time to time.
In a statement issued today, CPI (M) leader said that Government must fulfill the demands of revenue officials that include removal of pay anomalies and its retrospective effect from the implementation of 6th Pay Commission recommendation in the State.
He also said the demands including recruitment of new Patwaris, appointment as Naib-Tehsildar of the members who have qualified revenue executive examination, relaxation in PSGA, enhancement of PSC examination chances and transparency in transfer policy should also be looked into seriously.
Tarigami termed it regrettable that despite the efforts of the Association to get the demands of the Patwaris and Girdawars fulfilled by means of petitions and prayers, the Government has not taken any step to resolve them. He flayed the Government for its unwarranted announcement of holding the salary of Patwaris who are on strike for past nearly over a month.
“The Government must shun its dilly delaying attitude and without any further delay, resolve the crisis emanated from the strike by revenue officials in the State,” Tarigami demanded.
