3 injured in road mishaps

UDHAMPUR, May 5: Driver among two persons were injured when a truck rolled down in a deep gorge near Garnai in Rehmbal on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The truck, bearing registration number JK03A-7732, was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar when the driver lost control over steering resulting into the accident.
The injured, identified as Nazir Ahmed (Driver) son of Mohd Akram of Baramulla and Azad Ahmed son of Mazid Mohd of Uri, were shifted to hospital and their condition was stated to be out of danger.
A woman namely Poli Devi wife of Vishal Sethi of Garhi Udhampur was injured when a Maruti car on way from Jammu to Udhampur, rolled down near Rehmbal. Condition of the injured was stated to be stable in Udhampur hospital.
Meanwhile, according to police, a bootlegger was arrested and 60 pouches of country made liquor were recovered from his possession. The accused, identified as Vijay Kumar of Thnowa, was traveling in a bus when police nabbed him.
