KISHTWAR, May 5: Former Minister and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said though five days have passed to earthquake yet no major steps have been taken by Centre as well State Government in assessing the damages.
While addressing a series of public gatherings in Nali and Binoon area of block Drabshallah here, Saroori said that National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) should also include district Kishtwar in the priority list for extending all facilities and immediately provide 8,000 tents for those whose houses have been totally damaged.
Saroori said that as per tentative report, about 30-40 houses have got cracks in every Panchayats of erstwhile Doda District while several Government buildings has been totally damaged due to recent earthquake.
He also inspected the 15 km long Patnazi Kither road which is under construction by PMGSY at the cost 13 crore and directed the concerned agency to speed up the pace of work.
Besides, he took stock of all the ongoing developmental works of the area.
Meanwhile, local representatives put forth various demands including up-gradation of PHC Nali, widening work on Dunadi Bunjwah Road, construction of various link roads, opening of Degree College at Binoon, etc, to which the former Minister assured that their demands will be fulfilled in a phased manner on top priority.
Later, MLA inaugurated ‘Inspection Hut’ at Patnazi which was constructed as an estimate of Rs 47 Lakh by PWD (R&B) Department.
