JAMMU, May 4: Indian Colleges Forum (ICF), an amalgam of more than 500 colleges of the country today convened 1st meeting of its J&K State chapter at Jammu under the chairmanship of MS Katoch, secretary ICF J&K State Chapter and the founder chairman of Kawa Group.
Various member colleges from across the State attended the meeting to discuss and deliberate upon the issues pertaining to the educational scenario of the State. The members highlighted on the issues like quality education, NAAC accreditation and literary activities which are the need of the hour.
Members while discussing educational issues showed concern for introducing job oriented courses in all the colleges of the State so that unemployment problem could be resolved to some extent.
Further regarding enhancement of quality and moral education, all members unanimously resolved to work hard on both the issues by taking it further to all the three regions of the State including district headquarters of the State.
It was also resolved that regular educational event would be organized region wise, wherein the active participation of all the stake holder will be ensured and the Government’s support will also be sought to bring innovation in the Sector.
They further added that the Government should constitute an ‘Innovation Council’ on ‘Higher Education Advisory Board’ in the State to frame new strategies/ trends in higher education.
Prominent among those who spoke were Dr Anita Bali, Principal Kawa College of Education, Dr Zahoor Ahmed, Principal, Government Degree College Anantnag, Dr Meera Sharma, Principal, Chenab College of Education, Sunita K Sharma, coordinator, KCS College of Education and Prof Hakim Singh, Principal, Trikuta College of Education.
