JAMMU, Nov 25: Bari Brahmana Industries Association has said that the financial relief by the UT administration to industrial units in the form of adjustment of electricity bills is a step towards timely support to Industrial Sector suffering due to COVID-19 situation.
A meeting of Advisory/ Executive Committee of Bari Brahmana Industries Association was held under the presidium of Lalit Mahajan, Chairman, Federation of Industries, Jammu and President BBIA to convey gratitude to Lt Governor for the financial relief , which includes the adjustment of 50 percent Fixed Charges of Electricity Bills issued for the month of October 2020 by the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation and 5 percent Interest Subvention Scheme benefit out of which 1st Installment was already released in favour of the Industrial Units by Banks.
During the course of discussions the members present in the meeting also appreciated the working of the Industries & Commerce Department resulting finalization of Industrial Policy 2020 which is under the active consideration of Govt of India. “We are hopeful for the rapid industrialization of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir in near future enabling the local youths to start their career in the Industrial Sector,” said the members and also requested the BBIA President to take up the matter with the Lt. Governor for the free hold rights to the Industrial units working in the notified Industrial Estates of J&K SIDCO & SICOP.
Further, the issue regarding the problem being faced by some of the member units due to continuous sealing of their units despite court order for de-sealing the same, was also discussed in the meeting.
The meet requested the BBIA President to take up the matter with Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu for the de-sealing as the unit is engaged in the manufacturing the essential goods as defined in the SOP issued by the competent Authorities during COVID-19 & having all the requisite clearances from the related Departments.
The meeting was attended by Tarun Singla, Sr Vice President, Ajay Langer, Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra, General Secretary, Rajesh Jain, Secretary and Vivek Singhal, Treasurer BBIA & other members.
