JAMMU, Nov 25: In a great achievement, Sumit Partap Gupta, a J&K entrepreneur has been recognized internationally by PETA by awarding his ‘Ahimsa- The Vegan Cafe’ in Shirdi as the Best Vegan Café, 2020.
‘Ahimsa- The Vegan Café’ has its presence in Shirdi, UK and Kailash Mansarovar (Tibet). It is well recognized and enjoys consistent awards. The establishment offers a delightful menu with a global cuisine including bean burgers and pizza.
The Cafe was first established in 2016 in Shirdi, fuelled by the dream of a healthy and compassionate world. The vegan café’s philosophy, menu and service nudges us lovingly to make conscious, lifestyle choices in co-creating a world that works for all species.
Sumit’s journey as entrepreneur started in 2012 when he founded Sai Madhuban Hospitality Private Limited to serve the well being through healthy and nutritious food (the foundation of life). Sai Madhuban started with Madhuban, a Sattvic food chain of restaurants located in Gurugram, Katra and Shirdi.
His purpose manifested with Madhuban, serving healthy, pure food for pilgrims in pilgrimage places across India which were under-served with healthy, standard quality options in 2012 and scaled new heights in 2019 when they served 25,000 pilgrims at Kailash Mansarovar.
In a first for any Indian food company in the history of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, Sumit was entrusted to lead this path breaking collaboration between India, China and Nepal evolving service to the next level of excellence, ensuring vital meals to every pilgrim curated for their plate and health.
In pursuit of purpose-led growth, Sumit further identified the need for healthy, pure home-cooked type food in most urban cities and therefore collaborated with value aligned partners (a large conglomerate) to launch an ambitious 250 delivery/cloud kitchen project across pan-India.
They have consistently and consecutively bagged 5 (five) Certificate of Excellence (CoE) for their restaurant in Katra from another international organization Trip Advisor and CoE plus 5 rating for their café in Shirdi since last 4 years.
In Shirdi, they were selected as Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan official partners to serve food to VVIPs in the 100th year celebration of Shirdi Baba’s Samadhi in 2018-19. Their guest list includes Vice President and Prime Minister of India along with many other distinguished guests from all over the world.
