DoP opens modernized Postal Complex

JAMMU, May 1: Considering the requirements of industrial units in Bari Brahmana, Department of Posts (DoP) today inaugurated a modernized Postal Complex with Logistics and Parcel Post Centres.
The complex was inaugurated by Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture in presence of John Samuel, Chief Postmaster General.
While speaking, Bhalla said extending the postal facilities keeping in view the local demand and scenario will not only increase the revenue but also help the people in getting the desired facilities at their door steps.
John Samuel in his address said that the modern Post Office presents a new look and has all the latest services for public, adding that Logistics Post is a premium service and offers a range of integrated distribution of goods and parcels including, pick up facility, warehousing alongwith distribution and return management. The service provides end to end supply chain management to the customers by offering value added services.
The rates of Logistics Posts in respect of Jammu-Katra-Jammu are fixed as Rs 0.75 per kg, Jammu-Samba-Jammu is Rs 0.75 Kg,  Jammu-Udhampur-Jammu is Rs 1 per kg, Jammu-Kathua-Jammu is Rs 1.50 per kg and for Jammu-Srinagar-Jammu is Rs 2 per kg, he informed.
Earlier, Jagdeep Gupta, Director Postal Services said that J&K Postal Circle has been taking many initiatives to develop the Postal infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir on modern lines while Anil Suri, President Bari Brahmana Industrial Association congratulated the Postal Department for opening of Logistic and Parcel Post Centre.
