JAMMU, Oct 20: Twenty days Kashmiri Pandit’s cultural workshop was wound up at Sanskriti Bhawan, Aap Shambhu road, Jammu. The programme was approved and sponsored by Sangeet Natak Akademy, New Delhi. former president, BJP J&K Sat Sharma (CA) was the chief guest on the occasion. Prof. Ashok Aima, VC Central University, Jammu and Er. Kiran Wattal former JMC Commissioner, were the guest of honour. The programme was organized by Priyanka Koul (coordinator/director) of the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma encouraged the participants to revive and showcase the niceties and intricacies of Kashmiri Pandits culture and folk. He expressed happiness on seeing the show being organized with full enthusiasm and expressed pleasure over the event being conducted keeping in view the social distancing and other requirements to defy the spread of COVID-19. He also complimented the Sangeet Natak Akademi for giving an opportunity and support to rejuvenate youth in reviving the forgotten legacy of age old fading cultural traditions of Kashmiri Pandits. Sharma also averred that it should be done at a larger level by the support of the Government and said that wherever required, he will always support their cause.
Ashok Aima was ecstatic on seeing the event and expressed his best wishes to the participants for showcasing the faded tradition & attires of Kashmiri Pandits.
Kiran Wattal expressed happiness over the way culture & traditional aspect of Kashmiri Pandits was displayed in the event.
Priyanka Koul divulged the Kashmiri Pandits have lost everything including their cultural folk values. She said that these types of workshops are very necessary to rebuild & preserve the lost treasure of cultural and allied things.
