JAMMU, Sept 7: H S Pammi, district president BJP , R S Pura has demanded compensation for the land of farmers which is under border fencing in RS Pura and other border belt in the Jammu region.
In a statement issued here, today Pammi said that this compensation is still pending in Revenue Department of J&K ,U. T. He said on August 5 last year the constitutional special status of Jammu and Kashmir was scraped by Narendra Modi Government and a ray of hope has been generated among these farmers that they will get the compensation of the land which is under the border fencing without any delay.
He said though the compensation was released by the MHA two -three years back but the farmers are struggling hard for the same as it has not been paid to them as yet. Many times the farmers of IB apprised him about the impediments created by the officials in releasing the compensation. The issue was taken up with former Governor Satya Pal Malik and former Lt. Governor G. C Murmur. These farmers are displaced persons of 1947, 1965 ,1971 ,and some among then are refugees of West Pakistan.
Pammi, while seeking the intervention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha appealed him to issue directives to concerned Revenue authorities to release the compensation at an earliest so that these farmers are relieved of mental agony and sufferings.
