Traffic suspended for 4 hrs on NH

RAMBAN, Sept 7: The traffic on busy Jammu-Srinagar National Highway was suspended today for over four hours today after land slide in Banihal area.
Official sources said that weather was clear today but it rained during last evening and night. Sudden landslide hit the highway at Sher Bibi near Banihal at around 1.30 pm, causing blockade on the highway. The movement of vehicles came to halt with this. The National Highway authorities launched restoration operation and the road could be cleared at around 6 pm.
A large number of vehicles remained stranded for hours and it took long time to the traffic and local police to clear traffic jam in Banihal sector of the highway.
