JAMMU, Sept 1: Former State president ,BJP and ex MLC, Ashok Khajura today said that the Gupkar Declaration of Kashmir based parties and Congress is nothing but a ploy to again mislead the people of J&K for their vested political interests.
In a hard hitting statement issued here Khajuria said that National Conference (NC), Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have misled the people of J&K in general and Kashmir in a particular for last 70 years on the name of plebiscite, autonomy, self rule etc to remain in power.
He said however they were baffled after the annulling of controversial Articles 370 and 35 (a) by Narendra Modi Government on August 5 last year and later conversion of J&K State into two UTs on October 31 last year and are now trying to mislead the people once again to regain their lost ground.
Khajuria, while warning these leaders asked them that instead of misleading the people like past which has given nothing to J&K except bringing it on the path of destruction and devastation over the years, they should work for public welfare. He urged the parties to Gupkar Declaration to shun the negative politics and be positive and work for the restoration of peace and prosperity of J&K people which was, is and will remain as the crown of India for centuries to come.
He said the Gupkar Declaration will boomerang like slogans of plebiscite, autonomy and self rule and it will have no takers as people of J&K have seen that through the game-plan of these leaders and parties so they are no more going to trust them.
He said it is high time for these leaders to work for betterment of J&K UT and nation as a whole under the changed system.
