SAMBA, Sept 1: Two persons died in road accident after hit by Swift vehicle at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Maheshwar area here, today.
According to the report, the mishap took place at Jammu -Pathankot National Highway near Maheshwar area of Samba, when a Swift car whose number could not be traced moving towards Kathua side hit a motor cycle bearing Registration No JK21E 2801 which was on way to Samba resulting in the death of two persons including motorcyclist and pillion rider.
The bike was on way to Samba when a high speed car hit the two-wheeler from behind and both biker and pillion rider fell in the middle of the road. They were brought to the District Hospital Samba by the police where both of them were declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The deceased has been identified as Jarnail Singh, Subedar (retd), 60, resident of Gurah Slathian3. Tehsil Vijaypur of Samba district and Komal Palwal daughter of Balbir Singh, 22, resident of Ghoman Hassan, Guo Brahmana. The dead bodies were shifted to DH Samba for legal formalities.
In this regard, Samba police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started investigation. The driver along with vehicle fled from the spot and Samba police has launched a manhunt to trace the vehicle and the driver.
