UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: A truck conductor drowned while taking bath in Birmah Nallah at By pass, National Highway Udhampur, here this evening.
Identity of the deceased was established as Jauir Hussain (22), son of Faroz Din of Kani Pora, Kalasos, Kupwara District, who was working as conductor of the truck bearing registration number JK01AK-0326.
Reports said that the deceased along with other friends was taking bath in the Birmah Nallah when he slipped into deep water and drowned this afternoon, around 3.15 pm. On being informed, a Police team rushed to the spot and fished out the body after two-hour long search operation.
Later, the dead body was shifted to the District Hospital Udhampur for the postmortem and other legal formalities while a case has been registered in this connection for further investigation.
