NEW DELHI, July 29: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today said that some disruptive and opportunist elements have again become active to divide the community and create confusion in it for their vested interests. Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC in a statement issued here, today stated that these vicious people are using various platforms to spread disinformation by creating wrong narratives about demands and perceptions of the Kashmiri Pandit community. A consistent effort is being made to vilify the community by creating wrong opinions and fissures as well as to confuse it and other masses of the country for their selfish interests. Basically such elements lack the basic understanding about the aspirations, demands and interests of the victim KPs and the cause for which the community was fighting for decades together, he added.
He appealed peace-loving KPs who are victims of terrorism and a game plan of Pakistan to remain vigilant and defeat nefarious designs of these opportunists, agents of Hurriyat and other separatists of Kashmir within and outside the community
As regards one year completion of abrogation of Article 370 and granting of UT status to JK and Ladakh on August 5, 2020, Kundan Kashmiri said that it is a very important day as on this day a historic and prudent decision was taken by Government of India under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to reorganize the erstwhile State of Jammu and Kashmir, abolition of Article 370 and granting of UT status to JK and Ladakh on the will, choice and demand of nationalist people of India in general and people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmiri Pandits in particular.
The KPC appealed the community and other nationalist forces, including intellectuals, traders, youth, students and all other social organizations to celebrate this revered day like national festivals and to assert that J&K was, is and shall remain an integral part of India and take a pledge to maintain national unity and pride by defeating nefarious designs of enemy countries like China and Pakistan and their agents as well as anti-national and subversive elements.
He also appealed to nationalist forces to hoist Tricolor on their houses and business establishments, besides illuminating them and distribute the sweets among masses.
