NEW DELHI : The Lok Sabha was today adjourned till 1400 hrs after suspending nine members, five of Congress and four of TDP, hailing from Andhra Pradesh over the Telangana issue.
As soon as the House met, members of both Congress and TDP started creating a din over the decision of creation of a separate state of Telangana.
Several appeals of Speaker Meira Kumar to the members to go back to their seats went unheeded.
The agitating members holding placards trooped into the Well of the House and were raising slogans against the decision to carve out a separate state of Telangana.
Using her power under rule 374(A) of Parliamentary proceedings, the Speaker again suspended the nine members again from the House.
On August 23 also, the Speaker had suspended 12 members from Andhra Pradesh over the same issue for five consecutive sittings.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath had on August 22 moved a motion to suspend 10 of the 12 members. (AGENCIES)
