RAJOURI, Nov 28: Nine persons were injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the Tata Sumo bearing registration number 5850/JKO2AG met with an accident at Kalas in Thannamandi, causing injuries to nine persons on board. The vehicle fell into nearly 300 feet deep gorge. The injured were shifted to CHC Thannamandi.
They were identified as Mohd Younis (35), son of Mohd Hussain from Alal village;
Zamisha Akhter (2 yrs), daughter of Mohd Zahid from Alal; Saima Faisel (18), daughter of Mohd Taj; Lal Hussain (60), son of Ali Mohd; Zabina Akhter, wife of Mohd Zahid; Ibrash Naz (11), daughter of Mohd Azam; Mohd Bashir (35); Khalida Begum (30), wife of Mohd Farooq and Parwaz Ahmed (7), son of Farooq Ahmed, all hailing from Alal.
All of them were provided treated at CHC Thannamandi from where five seriously injured were referred to GMC Rajourl for further treatment. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
