RAJOURI, Sept 3: Thannamandi police today seized 9 bovine animals and arrested two smugglers in this connection.
A police spokesman said that a police party led by SHO, Thannamandi NS Chib laid a naka at Kote Behrote and rescued five bovine animals. They were being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police arrested one Mohd Latief, resident of Behrote in this connection and registered a case against him.
The police during naka at Chhurang bridge near Thannamandi seized a Tata Mobile loaded with 4 bovine animals and arrested one Showkat Ali, resident of Nerojal village in Thannamandi. The vehicle No. JK-11/3484 was also seized by police. The smuggler was carrying milch animals to Kashmir via Mughal Road. A case was registered in this connection.
