9 bovine rescued, 5 held

JAMMU, May 21: Police today rescued nine bovine animals and arrested five gamblers in Nagrota area of the winter capital.
Police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Nagrota police station laid a naka near Bantalab, Nagrota and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK14B-1095.
During checking, police recovered 9 bovine animals and arrested five smugglers, who were identified Nazir Ahmed of Anantnag, Khurshid Ali of Kulgam, Mohd Reyaz of Ramban, Parvez Ahmed and Shakeel Ahmed of Qazigund.
A case under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police party led by SHO OP Chib made the arrest under the direct supervision of SDPO Khalik Choudhary.
