9 bovine animals rescued, smugglers arrested

REASI, June 29: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling and arrested the accused persons besides rescuing nine animals from their possession.
A Police team, headed by SHO Chassana, SI Gurvinder Singh, laid a naka at Khanigali, Tehsil Chassana and intercepted one Mohd Rafiq of village Gabbar, tehsil Budhal in district Rajouri, who was carrying six bovine animals without any legal documents.  He intended to smuggle these bovine animals towards Kashmir from Budhal via Kunderdhan.
Police rescued the bovine animals and arrested the accused person.  In this connection, a case FIR No. 35/2017 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Chassana.
In a similar success, a police team from Talwara rescued three bovine animals during  a naka at Zero Morh.  These animals were packed in a Tata Mobile JK20-5057 in a very cruel manner. Police also arrested driver of the vehicle and his accomplice, who were identified as Miyan, son of Sukar Din of Patta Reasi and Pritam Singh, son of Krishan Singh of Kainthi Reasi. They were smuggling these bovine animals towards Kashmir. In this connection, case FIR No.126/2017 u/s 188/RPC, 3PCA Act has been registered at P/S Reasi.
