871 cases under Disability and Death Assistance Scheme pending for last 3 years: Govt

JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Government said on Monday that 871 cases under the Disability and Deaths Assistance Scheme were pending in the state, for the last three years.

”Total 871 number of cases under the Disability and Deaths Assistance Scheme are pending as of now in the State and the Districts,” the Government said in a written reply to a question raised by MLC Sajjad Ahmad Kichloo in the Upper House.

In reply to another question, seeking detail of total number of card holders in the state covered under the labour cards scheme for three years (2015-16, 2016-17 and 2017-18), the Minister In-charge said, ”79666 Building and Other Construction (BOC)  workers have been registered under the J&K BOCW (RE& CS) Act, 1996 during the last three years.”

The Government further replied that an amount of Rs 2,15 crore has been received from 1,27,626 registered BOC workers, on account of renewal of their cards in the last three years.

”An amount of Rs 2,0333 crore has been disbursed under various schemes to the registered workers in Kishtwar district during 2017-18,” he added. (AGENCIES)
