8,150 yatris pay obeisance at Amarnath

SRINAGAR: Despite remaining suspended for few hours in the morning due to bad weather, a fresh batch of 8,150 yatris paid obeisance today at the holy Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas on the second day of annual yatra.

An official spokesperson here this evening said that on the second day of yatra 8,150 yatris paid obeisance at the Holy Cave. He said till date 14,247 yatris had darshan of the Ice Lingam at the Holy Cave.

Pilgrimage to Amarnath cave shrine resumed from both shortest Baltal and traditional Pahalgam routes after remaining suspended in the morning for few hours due to heavy rains. The yatra was suspended for few hours in the morning due to heavy rains on both the routes. However, they said as the weather improved, yatris were allowed to move towards the holy cave shrine from both the routes. (AGENCIES)
