POONCH, Feb 25: A team of Mining Department with the co-operation of SDM Surankote Mohd Akbar seized/fined eight vehicles involved in illegal mining at Bufliaz in tehsil Surankote.
On the direction of District Development Commissioner Poonch Inder Jeet, the team raided the area and seized one heavy excavator and 2 trucks of limestone involved in illegal mining.
In addition to this, five dumpers which were loaded by minor mineral without e-challan were also seized. After confiscating the vehicles, the DMO Javid Iqbal handed over the vehicles to the police for safe custody.
The DMO appealed everyone not to be part of illegal mining and buy material from any mining blocks without e-challan.
