SRINAGAR, May 19: Police today seized eight tractors involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of mining minerals from the Turkwangam area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
A spokesperson said that during routine patrolling, a team from Police Post Turkwangam intercepted the vehicles found transporting minerals without valid royalty documents. All eight tractors were seized on the spot.
He said in this connection, FIR No. 78/2026 has been registered at Police Station Zainapora under relevant sections of law and investigation has been initiated.
