8 die of COVID in Kashmir

512 fresh Corona cases

SRINAGAR, Sept 5: Kashmir reported eight more COVID-19 deaths today while 512 fresh Coronavirus cases were reported from the Valley taking the J&K infection tally to 42241.
Those who died include a 32-year-old woman from Fethapora Anantnag, a 65-year-old man from Lal Bazar Srinagar, a 56-year-old man from Indra Nagar Srinagar, a 65-year-old woman from Sangran Qazigund, a 65-year-old woman from Beerwah Budgam, a male patient from West Bengal, a 75-year-old man from Doabgah Sopore and a 68-year-old woman from Pulwama.
An official at SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Fatehpur Anantnag who was admitted on August 15, a patient from Lal Bazar who was admitted on August 9, a patient from Indra Nagar who was admitted on August 6 and a patient from Beerwah Budgam who was admitted on August 31 died today.
An official from CD Hospital said that a patient from Sangran Qazigund who was admitted on August 31 and a patient from Sopore who was admitted on September 3 with chronic kidney disease and sepsis died on Saturday.
An official from SMHS Hospital in Srinagar said that a patient from West Bengal admitted on August 22 and a patient from Pulwama who was admitted on August 28 died today. He added that the recent reports of the patient from West Bengal were negative.
Srinagar district with 233 deaths topped the list followed by Baramulla 104, Budgam 65, Pulwama 56, Anantnag 54, Kupwara 54, Kulgam 37, Shopian 28, Bandipora 26 and Ganderbal 25.
With today’s deaths, the death toll in Kashmir has reached 685.
Kashmir today reported 512 deaths taking the J&K tally of Coronavirus infection to 42241.
Srinagar reported 181 fresh cases, Baramulla 51, Pulwama 40, Budgam 69, Anantnag 35, Bandipora 12, Kupwara 54, Kulgam 3, Shopian 4 and Ganderbal 63.
The COVID cases include 26 from Army’s BB Cantt, one soldier from Panzgam, two BSF men, 12 CRPF personnel and three from police.
Moreover, they said, 336 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals in Kashmir.
