8 cops hurt in grenade attack

SRINAGAR, Jan 19: Eight policemen were injured in a grenade blast at Pulwama area of South Kashmir today.
Militants lobbed a grenade towards Police Station Pulwama resulting in injuries to eight  policemen. “Soon after the attack, cops opened some fire shots”.

All the injured have been hospitalized and have been identified as Mohammad Ishaq Shah of Hari Parigam, Jagdish Raj of Kathua, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir of Tral, Mohammad Shafi Mir of Rajouri, Ghulam Nabi of Khaigam Pakherpora, Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat of Ganderbal, Bilal Ahmad Lone of Khansahab Budgam and Farooq Ahmad Lone of Tral.
Two of them Mohammad Shafi Mir and Ghulam Nabi were referred to Army’s 92 base hospital in Srinagar in serious conditions.
Security forces have launched searches in the area against the militants for the attack.
