UDHAMPUR, May 3: Foiling attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur Police today rescued 77 cattle from the clutches of the bovine smugglers.
Team of Police Post Roun Domail, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Raghubir Singh and assisted by PSI Mohd Shafique ( IC PP Roundomail) rescued 62 bovines from four different groups of bovine smugglers who were taking these animals by foot towards Kashmir valley.
All the smugglers fled away from the spot after noticing the police party on the road. In this regard, four different FIRs under relevant sections of law have been registered in PS Udhampur.
In another success, one more bovine smuggling attempt was foiled by a team of Police Station Udhampur, which rescued 15 bovines from one smuggler namely Imtiyaz Ali, son of Haji Shah Ali of Samba who was arrested on the spot.
In this regard, a case FIR number 219/2024 has been registered in Police Station Udhampur.
