JAMMU, Dec 3: Madhya Pradesh (MP) Chief Minister (CM) Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Yog Guru Swamy Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna jointly launched “75 crore Surya Namaskar Sankalp Program” at Patanjali Yogapeeth, Haridwar.
The Program was launched in the presence of thousands of students of Patanjali Vishvvidalaya. The registration for the campaign was launched by performing ‘Surya Namaskar’ by Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan along with Swami Ramdev.
Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that ‘Surya Namaskar’ is already done in Madhya Pradesh as a full fledged Yoga exercise. He said that it will be historical when 75 crore people will together perform ‘Surya Namaskar’ on the occasion of 75th Independence Day of India. He said that he would constitute a Yoga Commission to promote Yoga in Madhya Pradesh. Shiv Raj Singh Chouhan also assured his full support to the event.
The event is being organized jointly by Geeta Parivar, Krida Bharti, Patanjali Yogpeeth, Heartfullness Organization and National Yogasan Sports Federation to make the 75th Independence Day memorable and historical. Yoga Ministry and Sports Ministry is also giving their full support to the event. Further, the efforts are on to join Education Ministry, Culture Ministry and Defence Ministry with this program.
Swami Ramdev appealed other organizations and NGOs also to be part of this historical event. He said that any individual or organization can register for the program by going on www.75suryanamaskar.com. He said every participant whether individual has to perform 13 ‘Surya Namaskar’ for 21 days between January 12 (National Youth Day) and February 7 (Rath Saptami).
Acharya Balkrishna said they are seeking to set a world record by performing 75 crore ‘Surya Namaskar’. He said around 30 thousand educational institutions and a minimum of 30 lakh Yoga practitioners and students will participate in this event. Every participant will get a certificate signed by Yog Guru Ramdev and other dignitaries.
