GMC Principal, Controller inspect Centres

JAMMU, Dec 9: The J&K State Paramedical Council successfully conducted the examination of about 7000 students of different streams in the State today.
In Jammu Division, a total of 3417 students appeared, out of them, 1086 and 1137 were of Female Multipurpose Health Worker for Part I and II respectively, 455 students of Male Multipurpose Health Worker stream for Part I and II, 729 of 1st year, 369 of 3rd year and 225 of 4th Year of General Nursing Midwifery Stream while rest of the students were of the streams of Ophthalmic Assistant, Sanitary Inspector, Anaesthesia Assistant, D-Pharmacy and Pharmacist Indian System of Medicine who appeared in different examination centres across Jammu Division.
In Jammu district, 3417 students appeared in four centres established in Women College Parade Ground Jammu, Commerce College Jammu, Shri Guru Govind Singh Higher Secondary School Kunjwani and Shiksha Niketan Satwari Jammu.
In Kishtwar, 236 students, in Doda 297 students, in Poonch 343 students, in Rajouri 568 students, in Udhampur 614 students and in Kathua 754 students appeared in different centres.
For the first time in the history of J&K State Paramedical Council, a team headed by Vice-President visited the remote centres located at Poonch and Rajouri to have first hand information regarding the smooth conduct of examination.
A team headed by the Registrar J&K State Paramedical Council Jammu Dr Sandeep Singh, Registrar and Dr (Prof) A S Bhatia, Controller of Examinations, J&K State Paramedical Council, Jammu inspected the centres of Jammu throughout the day.
Dr. Sunanda Raina, Vice President J&K State Paramedical Council and Principal GMC Jammu congratulated all those involved in the process for successful completion of the Phase-I Paramedical Examination.
Registrar J&K State Paramedical Council while congratulating Controllers of Examinations from both the divisions of the State on successful and smooth conduct of the examination, apprised the media persons that Council has taken a number of reformative measure which has uplifted the standard of Paramedical Education and Training in the State and in the same direction he said very soon biometric attendance for students and staff will be introduced in all the Paramedical Institutions of the state to further improve the Paramedical Education in the State.
Dr. A S Bhatia, Controller of Examinations, while deliberating with the press stated that the syllabus of various Paramedical Courses has been revised to tackle the problem of new emerging diseases in the state. He further said that Practical Examinations of all streams of Paramedical Course will be started in few days and the result will be declared within two months duration so that the next session can be started well in time.
Dr. Bhatia expressed his gratitude towards the team of J&K State Paramedical Council comprising of Dr. Harleen Kaur, Associate Professor Microbiology, Roshan Lal Koul, Rajni Munjal, Sapna, Anjana, Shepali and Rakesh Arora, for their whole hearted effort in bringing the Paramedical Education to the main stream.
