KATHUA, July 21: A joint team of officials of Toll Post Lakhanpur and police department foiled a major smuggling bid by seizing approximately 700 kg of bhukki like substance being carried outside the State in a vehicle.
The vehicle, which was bearing registration number PB29R-3794, was on its way from Srinagar to Punjab and during the course of physical checking, the contraband was found in the vehicle.
In this connection, a case FIR No 68 of 2018 under Section 8/15 of NDPS Act has been lodged in police station, Lakhanpur for taking further necessary action in the matter under NDPS Act.
