RAJOURI, May 13: The Forest team from Rajouri today removed encroachment on 70 kanal of forest land in Kalakote area today.
Official sources said that a Forest team led by DFO Rajouri, Ram Rattan Sharma, assisted by Range Officer Khan Baz, under the supervision of Conservator of Forests West Circle, Sameer Bharti organised an operation taking assistance of police and FPF men and removed encroachment on nearly 70 kanal of Forest land in Compartment No. 96/ R at village Kothian and Compartment No. 111/K village Dhalyot of Kalakote Range. There was some resistance from the local land grabbers but the team cleared the land and also smashed three structures raised on the Forest land. They have been booked by the Forest department.
