70 bovine animals rescued, 6 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, June 13: As Police foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, 70 cattle were rescued besides arrest of six accused persons.
43 bovine animals were rescued in Chassana of Reasi district while 27 others were saved at Jakhani in Udhampur district.
Reports said that acting on specific information, a Police team from Police Station Chassana laid a naka near Kalaban and intercepted two bovine smugglers who were illegally taking 43 bovine animals towards Kashmir. Police rescued the bovine animals e and arrested both the smugglers, who were identified as Abdul Aziz, son of Fakar Din of Gota and Mohd Yousuf son of Keena of Gota, Chassana.
In this connection, case FIR number 22/2019 U/S 188 RPC has been registered at P/S Chassana. The whole operation was conducted under the supervision of Zakir Shaheen Mirza, SDPO Mahore and Shiv Kumar Chauhan, Addl SP Reasi.
Meanwhile, a police party led by SHO Udhampur , Vijay Singh Choudhary, under the supervision of Dr Rohit Chadgal, DySP Hqrs Udhampur and Rajinder Kumar Katoch, Addl SP Udhampur , laid a naka at Jakhani and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK08A- 4421 and JK02S-0727, in which 27 bovine animals were found loaded.
All the bovine animals were rescued while the accused namely Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Mirza of R S Pura Jammu, Jamal Din son of Nazam Din of Kheri, Gaddigarh, Jammu, Hamid Miyan son of Ghulam Jaan of Ramban and Mohd Haroon son of Abdul Rashid of Khanpur, Jammu, were arrested on the spot. In this connection, cases under relevant sections of law has been registered at P S Udhampur.
