REASI, Mar 14: Tightening noose around mining smugglers, Reasi Police seized seven vehicles which were involved in theft of minor minerals in different areas of the district.
For illegal mining at Nambla Reasi, one Tractor without registration number and two Dumpers bearing registration numbers JK02DC- 4809 and JK20B- 3657 were seized.
Similarly, for illegal mining at Saiter Nallah , a Dumper bearing registration number JK11B- 5867 and one Tractor bearing registration number JK20A- 9907 were seized.
In Chassana block, a Tractor trolley bearing registration number JK20B- 4526 was seized for illegal mining while in Arnas area, Tractor trolley bearing registration number JK20B- 3967 was seized for being used in illegal mining.
While sharing the details, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta conveyed that Reasi Police was committed for protecting the public property & ‘Rights of Consumer’ & thus enforcing genuine rates of goods & services in the jurisdiction. Police is also committed to eradicate the menace of illegal mining and resolve other mining related issues in the area, he added.
