RAJOURI, July 26: Some unknown thieves broke into seven houses at village Alal in Thannamandi area and decamped with cash, gold ornaments and other house hold articles.
Reports said that members of these families had gone to their `dhoks’ along with cattle at higher reaches in the same area for the last several weeks. One of the members namely, Muneer Hussain came back yesterday and found lock of his main door broken. He found that many articles, cash and some gold ornaments were missing. Then he moved to the adjoining houses also found their locks broken. He informed police about the matter. The other members also arrived after receiving information about theft. They lodged report with Thannamandi police. SDPO Iftikhar Talib said that a special police team has been framed to work out theft cases.
The victims whose houses have been burgled are- Ghulam Hussain, Guddi ( a widow), Mohd Shafiq, Mohd Mushtaq, Abdul Karim, Dil Mohammed and Muneer. No clue has been established so far.
