7 stranded passengers rescued from snow bound Sinthan Top

KISHTWAR, Nov 16: Chatroo police rescued seven stranded passengers from snow bound Sinthan Top.
As per police sources, due to sudden snow fall at Sinthan Top yesterday, five passengers got stranded with three vehicles.
On receiving information, SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary immediately constituted a team headed by SHO Police Station Chatroo Inspector Mohammad Bashir, which swung into the action and reached the spot by traveling on foot for many kilometres, where the passengers were stranded.
The police team rescued the stranded passengers and managed to facilitate them to reach their home safely.
The passengers rescued were Sajad Hussain, son of Zaffar Ahmad of Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain of Sarthal, both truck drivers, Mohammad Bashir of Kishtwar, an NHPC vehicle driver, Nisar Ahmad, son of Noor Hussain of Trigam Kishtwar and Hassan Ahmad of Damar Chatroo.
After rescuing the passengers and securing their vehicle to the safer locations, police party got information of two persons stranded on the other side of Sinthan Top in the jurisdiction of district Anantnag. The police party on the instructions of SSP Kishtwar Abrar Chowdhary mobilized the local Army also and immediately reached the spot on the other side of Sinthan Top towards district Anantnag and rescued those passengers also. The rescued persons were Sakeeb Ahmad, son of Javid Ahmad of Mughal Maidan and Maqsood, son of Noor Ahmad of Mughal Maidan. They were stranded with their Mahindra vehicle, which was loaded with gas cylinders and was on its way to Marwah.
