7 killed in Kishtwar mishap

KISHTWAR, Dec 28: Seven persons were feared killed when a Scorpio vehicle skidded off the road and fell more than 500 feet deep into a gorge at village Thamb near Ishtiyari in Paddar area of this district late this evening.
Apart from driver Manoj Kumar son of Mohan Lal R/o Ungai, Paddar, six passengers were travelling in the vehicle, which met with the accident around 6.30 pm, Additional SP Kishtwar Abdul Qayoom told the Excelsior
He said Scorpio No. 2914 JK02BLwas on way from Gulabgarh to Ishtyari on Kishtwar-Himachal Pradesh road when it skidded off the very dangerous road and fell several feet deep into the gorge.
Official reports said all seven persons on board the vehicle including driver and six passengers were feared killed in the mishap.
Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gulabgarh Pardeep Sein was on way to the site of accident.
The deceased have been identified as Manoj Kumar S/o Mohan Lal R/o Ungai , Narinder Kumar S/o Gian Chand R/o Thumb, Sunil Kumar S/o Sahib Singh R/o Thumb, Amar Singh S/o Dewan Chand R/o Shawas, Dharminder Singh S/o Partap Singh R/o Bastoon, Rohit Singh S/o Roop Singh R/o Shawas and Rangail Singh S/o Bodh Raj R/o Shawas.
Some local people were reported to have reached the spot.
