JAMMU, July 20: Domana, Bishnah, RS Pura, Katra and Udhampur Police arrested seven drug peddlers and recovered intoxicant capsules, heroin and cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, a team from Domana Police Station led by SI Thoru Ram under the supervision of SHO Inspector Chanchal Singh apprehended three drug peddlers along with 610 intoxicant capsules and Rs 7,200 cash.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rohit Sharma, son of Madan Lal Sharma of Purkho, Amandeep Singh, son of Jagmohan Singh of Nanak Nagar Jammu and Surjeet Kumar, son of Sham Lal of Trikuta Nagar.
Meanwhile, a team from Bishnah Police Station apprehended a lady drug peddler along with 1 grams of heroin.
The arrested lady has been identified as Mamta Devi of Bishnah.
In another similar incident, a team from RS Pura Police Station led by ASI Sunil Kumar Thakur laid a naka on Satrian road and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02AX-1774.
During checking, police team recovered 5.65 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Rahul Gupta alias Atul, son of Raj Kumar Gupta of RS Pura.
Similarly, a team from Katra Police Station led by SHO Inspector Pardeep Gupta and assisted by SI Bhupesh Singh apprehended a drug peddler along with 30 grams of cannabis.
The arrested person has been identified as Ravi Kumar, son of Kartar Singh of Village Parthal, Aghar Jitto, Tehsil Katra District Reasi.
In another case, a team from Udhampur Police Station led by SHO Inspector Vijay Choudhary under the supervision of Dr Rohit Chadgal DySP Headquarters Udhampur, Rajinder Kumar Katoch Additional SP Udhampur and SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey laid a naka at Jakhani Chowk and apprehended a drug peddler along with 10 grams of heroin.
The arrested person has been identified as Rajesh Kumar alias Billa, son of Nek Ram of Saillian Talab, District Udhampur.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Domana, Bishnah, RS Pura, Katra and Udhampur Police Stations and investigation started.
