KATHUA, Feb 14: Seven bovine animals were rescued by Police Station Lakhanpur besides the truck in which they were being smuggled was also seized today
Police said on specific information received through reliable source that one truck No.JK02AJ- 4071 coming from Punjab towards Jammu via Raavi river loaded with bovine animals. On this information Police party laid a special Naka at Golden Gate and checking started.
During the checking at about 0500 hrs the truck driver after seeing Police Naka stopped the vehicle at some distance from the Naka point and fled away. On checking police found seven bovine animals loaded in the truck. In this regard a case FIR No 17/2017 U/S 188 RPC has been registered and manhunt launched to catch /trace the smugglers . Operation was led by SHO Lakhanpur Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary under the supervision of Dy SP Kuljeet Singh, Addl Supdt Khalil Poswal and SSP Kathua Pawan Parihar.
