SRINAGAR: Despite strike called by separatists against braid chopping incidents in the Kashmir Valley, 69 people travelled in the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), on Monday.

The travelers, included 26 fresh residents of PoK and two Kashmiris, who crossed the Line of Control (LoC) to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition.

The bus left from here in the morning for Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC despite strike, official sources told UNI. The bus, carried two Kashmiris and 26 PoK returnees from here.

However, at Trade Facilitation Centre (TFC), Uri 14 more PoK returnees joined them before crossing to other side. They included 17 women and 10 children who had come here in previous buses to meet their relatives.

They said 26 fresh guests from PoK including 9 women and 5 children, arrived here in the bus to meet their relatives. However, only one Kashmiri, who had gone to PoK, returned home. (AGENCIES)
