674 Chinese nationals overstayed in India

NEW DELHI :  A total of 674 Chinese nationals, who came to India on valid travel documents, were found to be overstaying.
Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran told Lok Sabha that the figure was till December 31, 2012.
Ramachandran said as and when a foreign national, including Chinese, is found to be overstaying in India in violation of visa rules, necessary action is taken to deport such a foreign national.
“The powers to identify and deport illegally staying foreign nationals, including Chinese nationals, have also been delegated to the state governments/Union Territory administration,” he said. (AGENCIES)
