SRINAGAR, May 25: A 65-year old woman today died of Coronavirus while 14 persons tested positive in Kashmir taking the number of COVID-19 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1668.

Nodal Officer COVID-19 Control at Government Medical College Srinagar, Dr Salim Khan, said that a 65-year-old lady from Bugam Kulgam was admitted in SMHS Hospital Srinagar on 22-5-2020 with bilateral pneumonia.
She died next day and her body was kept in mortuary of GMC Srinagar. Her reports came today and she tested positive for COVID-19. He said the district administration Kulgam has been informed accordingly and the body was handed over to them for the last rites.
With her death, number of COVID-19 deaths in Jammu and Kashmir has gone up to 23 including 20 in Kashmir and 3 in Jammu.
Those who tested positive in Kashmir include five from Anantnag district, three each from Kulgam and Srinagar districts and one each from Shopian, Kupwara and Pulwama.
Dr Salim Khan said that 770 samples were processed today at the CD hospital lab and 10 tested positive besides that reports of 160 samples are under process and over 200 samples were received today.
He said that the 10 positive cases include a 31 year old pregnant lady from Bemina Srinagar, 30 year old man from Bemina in Srinagar, 36 year old woman from Sogam Kokernag in district Anantnag, 31 year man from Chatranjee Kokernag in district Anantnag,  26 year old woman from Hillar Kokernag in district Anantnag, 26 year old man from Larnoo Kokernag in district Anantnag, 28 year old woman from Tral in district Pulwama, 55 year old woman from Shalgam Bijbehara in district Anantnag, 50 year old man from Chitragam in district Shopian and 65 year old woman from Bugam Kulgam.
One among the positive cases is a policeman who has performed duty in Red Zone at Kharpora.
Three more from Kashmir tested positive at a private lab in Srinagar.
As per official figures, 278 positive cases including four deaths and 109 recoveries are from Anantnag, 227 including three deaths and 15 recoveries from Kulgam, 182 including six deaths and 125 recoveries from Srinagar, 139 including one death and 129 recoveries from Bandipora, 137 including 98 recoveries and four deaths from Baramulla, 129 including 107 recoveries from Shopian, 165 including 70 recoveries from Kupwara, 64 including 47 recoveries and two deaths from Budgam, 27 including 24 recoveries from Ganderbal and 26 including 10 recoveries from Pulwama.
As per the officials, out of 134188 samples were processed and 132520 tested negative and 1668 positive.
There were 134873 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases enlisted for surveillance which included 30923 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by Government, 60 in Hospital Quarantine, 836 in hospital isolation and 30521 under home surveillance. Besides, 72510 persons have completed their surveillance period.
And as Government resumed domestic flight operations across the country, six flights carrying around 562 passengers landed at Srinagar Airport today.
The arrival of flights started with the landing of Air Asia flight at 7:25am. All passengers who arrived at the airport were thoroughly screened for COVID-19 and their samples taken.
All passengers, on arrival, by air today and for coming days, shall be kept in institutional or home quarantine for prescribed period, sampling will be done of all passengers and test samples will be sent to SKIMS for results. Those passengers who test negative shall be sent to home and those testing positive, if any, will be sent to hospital for further treatment.
For sample collection from the passengers for COVID-19 test, 30 Test Kiosks have been setup at the airport, besides transport facilities by SRTC have been made available at the airport for these passengers.
