JAMMU, Mar 16: Police in this District claimed today that they have seized six vehicles allegedly involved in illegal mining.
A police spokesperson said that one tractor trolley was seized by a team of Police Station Akhnoor led by SHO concerned, Inspector Harjeet Singh, two tractor trolleys by a team of Police Station Domana led by SHO of the area, Inspector Tilak Raj, one tractor trolley by Police Post Phallain Mandal led by a team of incharge police post Phallain Mandal, PSI Ajesh Singh Jamwal, and two tippers by Police Post Canal led by a team of incharge police post PSI Mohammad Younis Khanday.
Meanwhile, acting on a specific information, police teams of Arnia raided at suspected locations and seized two different dumps of mining material.
A special team of Police Station Arnia led by SDPO RS Pura, Surinder Singh assisted by SHO Arnia, Inspector Deepak Katoch along with the team of District Geology and Mining Department also raided on various suspected locations and seized two illegal dumps of mining material.
“The vehicles seized were mining in violation of a High Court order,” added the police spokesperson.
