POONCH, June 2: At least six sheep were killed due to lightning at Bela Balla, in Loran area of tehsil Mandi in Poonch district today.
Official sources said that at about 06:00 PM, a strong beam from the sky hit a tree at Bela Balla area of Loran in which about half a dozen sheep of Abdul Gaffar, son of Rahim Sheikh were killed. Fortunately, no loss of human life reported in the incident.
The owner of sheep said that his family was dependent on these sheep for livelihood. The villagers have requested the administration to provide compensation to the affected poor family.
SHO Loran, SI Navid Anjum confirmed the incident and said that the number of sheep killed is the incident is six.
