6 PoK citizens held on way to Valley

JAMMU, June 9: Police today detained six citizens of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) including two women when they were trying to visit Kashmir from Mughal Road illegally as their permit was valid only up to travel to Poonch as they had come from PoK via Chakan-Da-Bagh on Poonch-Rawlakote route.
Official sources said the PoK citizens had come to meet their divided relative in twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri from Chakan-Da-Bagh on permit. However, as per the guidelines on cross-LoC visit, the PoK citizens had to obtain permission from the concerned Deputy Commissioner and inform police station before visiting any other area outside the place they had checked-in.
The PoK citizens were intercepted by a police team headed by Incharge Behram Gala Police Post Sub Inspector Firdous Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Surankote Ajay Sharma at Peer Ki Gali in Surankote on Mughal Road and were detained when they failed to show the permission for their visit to Kashmir Valley.
They have been identified as Mohammad Sharif son of Hakim Din, a resident of Barkat Colony, Gujranwala and his daughter Shahnaz Akhter. They had come to the house of Mohammad Akbar s/o Saif Ali R/o Kotli Kalaban in Manjakot area of Rajouri district, Mohammad Afzal Khan son of Bagaa Mohammad Khan R/o Abasspur, Rawalakot, staying in the house of Mohammad Saleem Khan at Ward No. 7 Mohalla Arya Samaj, Poonch, Azhar Iqbal Kayyani S/o Mohammad Rafiq Khan R/o Chattra  Abasspur, Rawlakote and Majeeda Begum W/o Rafiq Khan, who were staying in the house of Abdul Latief S/o Mohammad Bashir R/o Banwat, Haveli Poonch.
Sources said all PoK citizens were being quizzed by Surankote police teams headed by SDPO Ajay Sharma to ascertain their motive behind violating the guidelines to visit the Kashmir Valley.
