KISHTWAR, June 25: Six members of a family were feared dead when the Alto car they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into Budh nallah near Garh area in Padder here today.
As per reports, an Alto car was on its way from Garh towards Massu when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it plunged into Budh Nallah near Garh in Padder.

In the incident, the driver Mulk Raj, son of Ram Nath, a Head-Constable in Armed Police hailing from Garh Padder alongwith five other family members are feared dead.
The other persons in the vehicle have been identified as Muni Devi wife of Mulkh Raj, Kailasha Devi, daughter of Mulkh Raj, Anamika Devi (16), daughter of Chuni Lal, Sushalni alias Shallu (13), daughter of Narinder Kumar and Sonakshi alias Kaki (11), daughter of Narinder Kumar, the reports said.
On getting information, police team along with GREF, Army, Fire Services and Forest Department personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
Locals also assisted in the rescue operation. Later, Union Territory Disaster Response Force (UTDRF) personnel from Kishtwar also reached the spot to assist in the rescue operation.
Former Minister Sunil Sharma rushed to the spot and supervised the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Rajinder Singh Tara said that six people are missing after a car fell into Budh Nalla near Garh in Sangrala area today. Rescue operation was launched but no dead body was retrieved from the nallah till last reports came in, he added.
However, MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh on getting information about the accident was in regular touch with the District Administration Kishtwar. “Offered all possible assistance required, financial or logistic or otherwise, to the needy”, tweeted Dr Jitendra Singh.
Atholi Police has taken cognizance in this regard.
It is pertinent to mention here that around a week back, a tipper plunged into river Chenab near Silpor Morh in the jurisdcition of Atholi Police Station in which 6 persons were feared dead and their bodies have not been recovered till today.
