JAMMU, July 30: Railway Magistrate Jammu Yahaya Firdous has convicted a stock broker in a cheque bounce case awarding him six months imprisonment and directed him to pay Rs 2.26 lakh to the complainant.
After hearing Advocate PS Parmar for the complainant Ravinder Prashad Gupta whereas Advocate Vishal Mahajan for the Rakesh Pandoh Sub-Broker Globe Capital Market Ltd, Railway Magistrate observed, “since the complainant has succeeded in bringing home all the ingredients of Section 138 of NI Act and the accused has miserably failed to prove his defence either by leading his evidence or from the evidence led by the complainant, therefore, it is easy to hold that the accused is found guilty of the offence under Section 138 of N.I. Act”.
